Well, I hate to admit that this Pennsic ranked as my least favorite. Certainly a let down after so long prepping for it. Seemed to be a common thread, from many folks I spoke to.

Lots of commitments, a couple I had to make hard choices on, one I hate to admit I had to drop. Made for a long week.

Some of the weeks highlights, in no particular order, were: So happy to see some of my favortie Knights take Squires, and even happier to see two special ladies receive their Lodge Amber. I was so happy to see Aldred and Olwen brought into the Laurel. Seeing John get his Pelican was wonderful.. Seeing the interesting elevation of Duke Michael was... amusing. Being able to take part in Justus' vigil was an eye opener. I am so thrilled that a man of his character was elevated. The order will certainly be bettered by his addition. I wish I could have seem the ceremony, Friday Morning, but I had an off-site commitment with my parents (40 minutes from their house, and if I don't see them for Breakfast one day, it is a full year of Motherly guilt.. *sigh*)

The other highlights of the War were getting to spend some fun time with D. Ragnarr and Anneka, and of course sister Cat and the Oddny. My Pennsic treasures included a beautiful canary wood inkle loom from Egil (and I've finally learned how to warp them, too Whoot!), and Mark bought me a beautiful etched amber Laurel medallion.. Oh, and I got two glass books I have been searching for, and for a steal too...

I got to spend a little time glass geeking with some folks from the historic research glass list, which was way cool (amazing how some folks just don't look how you envision them in your mind).. Certainly have a renewed desire to create something.. (which I will start the planning stages after Baronial Birthday) Also had the chance to geek with Master Arab Boy (since I can neither spell or pronounce his registered name *lol*), which was grand fun as always.

Got a chance to see our friend Vlad and his dear lady Lisbeth, but missed out seeing Wookie (which was a first :( ). I had hoped to see Heather Dale and Wouglemut, but missed out on both. Only made the start of the Slave Auction, down in the bog, but I wasn't too disapointed about that. Did get to spend some much needed time talking with Robear, as well as Ragnarr, and I feel better about a few things.

Our camp was pretty cool. Can't expect things to run 100% smooth (ok, so I did, and got b@#$h slapped right at the get go, but all in all a great group of folks. I'm done Stewarding camp, though. Axel summed up my lack of Pennsic enthusiasim quite well when he said he thinks I need one where I have no responsibilites, no commitments, and am in charge of nothing.. Doubtful that all will happen any time in the near future, but I can certainly start the process by passing on the Steward torch to someone else. I think 5 Pennsics in a row is more than even my A-R/OCD self can handle. *lol*

Well, I hope everyone made it home safe and sound. There were many of you I had hoped to see, and I am sorry I missed you. For those of you who weren't there, don't despair too much.. I don't think you missed much.

Well, back into the groove. I have a job inerview for tomorrow (keep fingers and toes crossed, please).. I have garb to finish for Coronation, and a couple things to finish up on for Baronial Birthday, and then I hope to be able to relax for a little while.. Well, I can hope anyhow..

*lol*
